Alba Vázquez: The Quiet Rise of One of Spanish Motorsport's Most Compelling Stars

From historic wins to Le Mans dreams, we sat down with the Asturian driver ahead of her 2026 Supercars Endurance season.

Some motorsport stories unfold quietly before they demand your full attention. Alba Vázquez is one of them. The Asturian driver is one of Spanish motorsport’s most compelling rising stars.

Earlier this week, we were in Madrid for her official 2026 season presentation, hosted at the headquarters of Bosch España. Bosch Mobility Aftermarket has been her main sponsor for three consecutive years now, a partnership that has grown into something more personal than a sponsorship deal.

At just 23, and with a relatively short career, she’s already made history. She became the first woman to win a race in the Spanish Touring Car Championship at 19, and in her debut Supercars Endurance season in 2025, she led the championship for much of the year before finishing third overall. All of it built fast, and built to last.

This year, she returns to the endurance category with a clear goal: to win the championship and take another step towards Le Mans and the WEC, her ultimate ambition. The Supercars Endurance calendar takes her to Portimão, Jarama, Valencia and Jerez, and she’ll be the only Spanish woman competing in her category.

A Character Built For Endurance

It’s perhaps no surprise that endurance suits her so well. Her life has shaped a fighter’s character. From a young age, she learned what it means to face adversity, watching her mother battle cancer and making her way as a woman in a man’s world. But she also learned what it means to dream big, growing up alongside a karting champion grandfather who showed her what was possible. She’s learned to build herself, chase her dreams, and never forget to look out for others along the way.

We sat down with Alba for an honest conversation that went well beyond lap times and championship standings. We talked about how she’s been in the tracks with her grandfather since she was a baby, and what it means to carry his legacy with her now. About balancing a motorsport career with a personal life, and the weight that comes with both. About what happens if motherhood comes into the picture, and how that changes your relationship with risk and the dangers of a sport you love. And about her commitment to children’s cancer research, something she speaks about with real depth and care.

It’s a 14-minute conversation that gives you a much fuller picture of who Alba Vázquez actually is. Because behind every result, there’s always a person worth knowing.
